Food and detectable materials
That’s why we’ve developed a complete range of plastic safety knives that are suitable for contact with food and can be detected. But what is a detectable, food-safe material?
The material suitable for food contact is a plastic that cannot alter the quality of food products. Several strict tests ensure that no harmful substances migrate into the food. For our products, we have chosen to use a material that is naturally edible and to which no additives have to be added. As well as ensuring that our plastics are suitable for contact with food, we also guarantee that our safety knives can be detected. The detection of foreign bodies during food processing and packaging plays a major role in guaranteeing product safety and quality. All our safety knives contain metal charges so that every fragment of a safety knife can be quickly identified by metal detectors in the event of breakage or loss.
To guarantee our customers that our safety knives comply with current regulations, we have had them tested by the LNE (Laboratoire National de Métrologie et d’Essais).
