CSR management system at Mure & Peyrot

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) refers to the commitment of companies to act ethically and responsibly, taking into account the impact of their activities on society and the environment.

This concept encompasses all the practices put in place by a company to integrate social, environmental and economic concerns into its activities and its interactions with its stakeholders, such as employees, customers, suppliers, the local community and society as a whole.

The 4 main dimensions of the CSR approach :

  • Economic:

This pillar concerns the company’s commitment to generating economic benefits in an ethical and responsible manner. It encompasses a number of practices such as value creation, transparent financial management, compliance with laws and regulations, and contributing to the economic development of local communities.

  • Social :

The social aspect focuses on the relationships between the company and its internal and external stakeholders, including employees, customers, suppliers and society. This pillar focuses on good working conditions, health and safety at work, social inclusion and respect for human rights.

  • Environmental :

This dimension enables the company to make a commitment to the environment, and to minimise its ecological footprint. It aims to minimise greenhouse gas emissions, ensure responsible water and waste management, and adopt responsible technologies.

  • Corporate governance:

Corporate governance concerns the way in which a company is run, and the way in which it carries out its actions. Governance encompasses the transparency and accountability of management, taking into account the interests of all stakeholders, respecting ethical standards and combating conflicts of interest.

By acting responsibly in these four areas, a company can make a significant contribution to sustainable development and the creation of long-term value for all its stakeholders.

Mure & Peyrot obtains Silver certification from EcoVadis:

EcoVadis is a platform dedicated to the global evaluation of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). It covers a wide range of criteria, including the environment, human rights, ethics and responsible purchasing. These assessments help companies to identify their strengths and areas for improvement in order to enhance their sustainability.

This certification is based on a personalised questionnaire used to assess a company’s CSR management system. EcoVadis assesses the CSR management system using the 7 pillars set out in the ISO 26000 standard:

  • Organisational governance
  • Human rights
  • Workplace relations and conditions
  • the environment
  • Fair practices
  • Consumer protection
  • Communities and local development

This approach enables us to evaluate our CSR management system. Thanks to the score obtained, we obtain a medal indicating the quality of our system. The certification assesses our actions in response to the 21 criteria defined by the 7 pillars of the ISO 26000 standard, and helps us to define our areas for improvement and implement solutions to improve our CSR management system.

Our CSR commitments to stakeholders:

To integrate all these concerns into its CSR strategy, Mure & Peyrot needs to reinvent itself. In order to take action, we have conducted surveys of all our stakeholders to identify the objectives that will enable us to make an impact in terms of CSR.

As a player, Mure & Peyrot is committed to taking concrete action to improve its performance and meet the requirements of our customers and the expectations of our stakeholders.

  • Local suppliers: we favour local purchases in order to support local businesses while minimising our carbon footprint.
  • Quality of life at work: active communication with employees enables us to adapt comfort equipment to improve employee well-being.
  • Local names: our knives bear local names to promote our region.
  • Transparency: we clearly deploy our ESD reporting to reinforce our CSR strategy and maintain it in the long term.
  • Recycling and sorting: we use responsible and ecological methods to manage our waste.
  • Regulations: our rigorous compliance with regulations is our priority, ensuring the transparency of our operations and the trust of our employees and customers.
  • Energy consumption: our energy consumption is regulated by government policies, as is our carbon impact.

In conclusion, CSR has become an essential part of the business strategy of many companies, and its importance continues to grow in a context where social and environmental concerns occupy an increasingly important place in society.

Incorporating CSR into its activities can bring a number of benefits to companies, such as an enhanced reputation, greater attractiveness to talent and greater resilience in the face of economic and environmental challenges.
